DYNAMO

Dynamic Resilience Assessment Method including a combined Business Continuity Management and Cyber Threat Intelligence solution for Critical Sectors

DYNAMO aims to ensure cyber resilience and business continuity in critical sectors through its standardized methodology. Cyberattack growth and sophistication has and will continue to be on the rise. This scenario increases the complexity of critical sectors, the needs of its end-users and the need for support in their daily tasks. DYNAMO will combine the cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and business continuity management (BCM) fields to generate a situational picture for decision support. The knowledge generated by DYNAMO will accelerate the recovery process and give contributions for self-healing, addressing the five phases of the resilience cycle: prepare, prevent, protect, response and recover. The DYNAMO platform will also be useful in the business practices of small and medium-sized enterprises that may lack the knowledge and resources for affording of chief information security officers or several cybersecurity practitioners.

ReCharged

ReCharged - Climate-aware Resilience for Sustainable Critical and Interdependent Infrastructure Systems enhanced by emerging Digital Technologies

The ReCharged project seeks to develop an integrated framework and practical platform of visualization to optimize climate resilience and reduce carbon emissions in Transport and Energy Systems, Vital Infrastructures and Interconnected Assets (iTESLA - interconnected Transport and Energy Systems, Lifelines, and Assets). The project will consider interdependencies that can lead to system failures and accelerate post-crash recovery. hazard, reducing losses. ReCharged seeks to combat isolated thinking in infrastructure management in order to contribute to more efficient decision-making and reduced carbon emissions. Thus, ReCharged aims to contribute to the creation of a safer and more resilient environment.

Covinform

Based on the theory of intersectionality and the analysis of complex systems, the project COVINFORM conducted an interdisciplinary assessment of responses to COVID-19 – in governmental, public health, community and information and communication levels – in Europe, with a special focus on risk, vulnerability and resilience. Promising practices were evaluated in target communities through case studies covering several disciplines and vulnerable populations. The project also developed an online portal and a toolkit for stakeholders in government, healthcare and public and civil society/community. Thus, COVINFORM presented solutions, guidelines and recommendations aimed at ensuring that the needs of vulnerable groups and marginalized are adequately considered in future pandemics.

The COVINFORM project consists of the way vulnerability is defined and addressed (if is addressed) in the responses to COVID-19 from the point of view of government, health public and communication. The project also examines the impact that different national, regional and local responses have affected vulnerable and marginalized groups, and analyzes these impacts through an intersectionality perspective to understand how different factors interconnect, potentially increasing the vulnerability and marginalization. COVINFORM has developed solutions, guidelines and recommendations to ensure that the needs of vulnerable groups and marginalized people are duly considered in potential new waves of COVID-19 and future pandemics.

Sabydoma

The main objective of the SABYDOMA project is to develop a new methodology for approach the Safety by Design (SbD) challenge as a control system problem. A its technological solution consists of associating screening with conception, that is, screening in the point of production is used to modify the design of nanomaterials. O SABYDOMA will use system control and optimization theory, including the philosophy of Model Predictive Control (MPC), connecting Safety by Design from laboratory innovation to the industrial production line and from decision-making processes to project governance. An equally important innovative step is the construction of high-throughput online platforms where nanomaterials are manufactured and analyzed at the point of production.

RiskGONE

RiskGONE (Science-based Risk Governance of Nano-Technology) is a European Union H2020 project that aims to provide solid procedures for consistent governance of the risks of engineered nanomaterials. The project started on January 1, 2019 and ends on August 31, 2023. During this period, the project partners developed new tools and modified existing ones to identify with greater certainty the environmental and human health impacts of a range of nanomaterials. These tools and the test results were then integrated into the work of a European Risk Governance Council (ERGC), a group of individuals with different areas of expertise in nanomaterials tasked with making governance decisions on the safety of specific materials. The project had a budget of 5 million euros.

Beyond Neet (D)

Factor Social is finishing the first phase of the project BEYOND NEET(D)s. The project started in October 2020, with the purpose of creating an Integrated system for guidance and support for vocational education pathways for highly disadvantaged youth beyond the status of NEET (unavailable or disengaged persons who are not in employment, education, or training or even below this status). The primary objectives are to offer opportunities, jobs and training in order to increase this subgroup’s engagement in society and therefore, decrease its rate.

The most important goal of this project is to open job offers to this subgroup and to increase trust and motivation of NEETs to enter the job market. The final products of Beyond NEET(D)s will be easily accessible, transferable and applicable in the existing practices in the global market.

Beyond NEET(D) is a multidimensional partnership involving seven organizations, from Austria (Jugend am Werk Steiermark GmbH; and ENTER GMBH), Cyprus (Centro CSI para Inovação Social Ltda), Czech Republic (Aklub Centrum Vzdelavani a Poradenstvi), Ireland (Meath Community Rural and Social Development Partnership Limited), Italy (CO & SO- Consorzio per la Cooperazione e la Solidarieta'-Consorzio di Cooperative Socialisocieta 'Cooperattiva Sociale), and Portugal (Factor Social - Consultoria em Psicossociologia e Ambiente Lda). All of these have a vast experience working with disadvantaged young people and vulnerable NEETs and share the goal of making an integrated approach to the issue.
